She's Not You (lyrics - clip)

Once you've found your soul-mate, other people (women) may look good but they just don't compare. This song depicts a hypothetical situation.

Rena (clip)

This song was co-written with Von Cannon, a friend and writing partner from the 80's. I asked him to write some lyrics for a beach song. The music came easy after I had the lyrics.

Daddy's Home (clip)

I always loved the way my brother Butch sang this song. I cut this arrangement for the band, 58 West, to do.

I Get Blamed for Everything I Do (lyrics - clip)

This was inspired by an old friend, Gilmer Finch, who at one time ran sound for FOX & COMPANY. This is something he used to say all the time. The title came first on this song.

Cowboys to Girls (clip)

A remake of an old song by the Intruders. I liked the original so much that I didn't feel the need to change it much.

He Don't Love You ( Like I Love You) (clip)

I got the idea for this one day while on the treadmill at the gym. At one time my brother Butch and I sang this as a duet. I later sang it with Lonnie Woodall. I recorded and mixed this song within a few hours.

Creature of the Night (lyrics - clip)

I came up with these chord changes while sitting at the piano late one night, trying to write. I thought they were interesting. With nothing particular to write about I thought, "why don't I write a song about staying up all night trying to write a song." Clever huh?!

Come on Danny (clip)

This is a remake of a local/regional hit I had back in the 70's. The lyrics were written by Barry Koplen.

Bypass Blues (clip)

This is the first song I cut after my gastric bypass surgery. I wanted to make sure I hadn't lost any brain cells from the anesthesia.

Back to You (lyrics - clip)

I have come to realize that life is a series of opportunities to show love and share feelings. Unfortunately we all miss many of these chances. This song helped me realize that even though I have missed my share of chances I have hope that I will do better in the future.

I'd like to thank a few people who have believed in and encouraged me in this effort. Johnny Dollar (Phillip Wells) from Oldies Radio 1330 WBTM, Bill Lester from WKRX in Roxboro, NC., and John (Jazzman) Douglas.
