Labor
of Love
© Rickie Fox
It’s not just for the pay,
Cause I would make more some other way.
It’s not for the glory,
Or I’d have hung up my rock and roll shoes a long time ago.
It’s not for the fame,
But it’s cool when strangers know your name.
It’s not for security,
Cause this thing might not work out I just don’t know.
Sometimes I sit and wonder,
Why I pour my life into a song.
Maybe its because deep down inside
I’m hopin’ some of you might want to sing along.
I guess it’s a Labor of Love.
It must be the music that I just can’t get enough of.
I’ve been down that road and back,
And not once have I found
One single thing that would make me want to lay it down;
This Labor of Love
It’s
not just something to do,
It’s a way I can share my life with you.
I guess I’ve had my fun,
And now I think the serious work has just begun.
