This is my B.C. Rich Mockingbird guitar. This guitar was custom
built in California for Mark Earp. Mark played in Fox &
Co. for a while as the second guitar player. He had this guitar
built and I had a Mockingbird Bass built at the same time.
They were both ordered in late 1982 and we got them in early
1983. I didn’t see the guitar for years after Fox&Co
disbanded. One day while visiting a musician friend in town
I saw it laying there. I bought it from him and began the
process of rebuilding it. This eventually became too expensive
and I traded it to Don Elkow for a Gibson ES335. Don fixed
it up right. One day while at Don’s I saw it, played
it and knew that it had to come back home.
The body and frets were in good shape. Don electronically
rewired it installing an active preamp and coil tapping capability
for that single coil sound. He installed 2 EMG acitive pickups,an
81 and an 85, new Grover tuners and a new bridge.
This guitar can do it all, but it excells at screaming solo’s
and ‘nuclear’ power chords.
I won’t let this one get away again.
